Magnetic Resonance Angiography (MRA)

Blood Vessel Imaging

A special term is applied to the use of magnetic resonance imaging to examine blood vessels: magnetic resonance angiography (MRA). In addition to imaging the coronary arteries to look for signs of heart disease, MRA has diagnostic applications in many areas of the body, including blood vessels in the neck, chest, brain, abdomen, internal organs, pelvic region, and extremities (arms, hands, legs, and feet).
